Bring your products to life in 3D

Upload your 3D models, fine-tune how they look and behave, then organize them into a catalog your customers can explore. This guide walks you through every step.

How it works

The Admin tool has two main areas, shown as tabs at the top of every screen.

Products ListYour full inventory of uploaded 3D models — where you upload, review and set up each model.
LibraryWhere you organize ready models into the catalog categories your customers browse.

The typical journey is Upload → Set up → Add to a category → Publish. A model must be set up before it can appear in your catalog.

Your products list

The Products List shows every model you've uploaded. Use it to monitor processing, find a model, and open one for setup.

Finding a model

The search field at the top searches across the whole list by model name, SKU article, or category. Each column also has its own search box to filter within just that column.

What each column tells you

The Analytics indicator is a quick health check on each model. A RapidPipeline QC score may also be shown to help you judge quality.

Adding a model

Use the Add item button in the top-right corner to start an upload. When your list is empty, the same button also appears in the center of the screen so you can create your first catalog entry.

Uploading models

Selecting Add item opens the Files Uploading window, where you choose files and send them for processing.

What you'll see

Your upload limitHow many model slots are Available and how many you've Uploaded, alongside your Storage (GB available vs. used). Both must have room for a new upload.
Select filesOpens your system file picker. You can also drag-and-drop files onto the highlighted area.

Supported: .glb · .obj · .fbx Complete sets (textures + materials)

Adding and reviewing files

Once files are added, the window lists each one with its file name, format and size, plus a count of selected files. You can delete any file before uploading. The Upload button stays inactive until at least one file is added.

Files are validated before they're sent. If a file isn't a usable 3D model it's highlighted in red and an error appears — the window stays open and nothing is uploaded. Remove the invalid files to continue. Individual files that aren't part of a model aren't supported.

Uploading

When every file passes validation, pressing Upload sends them to the server and a progress indicator appears (with an estimated processing time). You can Close the window or use × to dismiss it without uploading.

After upload, your files are processed on the server. Follow their progress in the Status column — see Model statuses.

Setting up a model

A model must be set up before it can be used in your catalog. Once uploaded and converted, a model gets the Pending status and waits there until you set it up. Press Open to launch the editor.

NameThe display name of the 3D model.
MaterialHolds the colors and textures for the object.
SizeAdjust height, width and depth. Lock the proportions to scale uniformly.

Rotate options

  • Reset — returns the model to its default position.
  • Edit pivot — set the pivot point (the spot a rotation turns around, or that scaling moves to and from) along each axis. Back to center returns it to the middle (inactive when already centered).

Saving or leaving

  • Submit saves your changes and continues processing toward Ready.
  • Back returns you to the products list. If you've made changes you'll be asked to confirm — No, discard to leave without saving, or Yes, save to keep your work.

This editor is still being refined, so some controls may change. Create as new and Save belong to editing a finished model and won't appear during first-time setup.

Adding items to a catalog

The Library is where you organize ready models into the categories your customers browse. Two categories — Exterior and Interior — are provided by default.

How the screen is laid out

The Library shows your category list on the left, the contents of the selected category in the middle, and your product list (models not yet placed) on the right. Each side has a Select all checkbox, a model count, sorting, and a search field. By default the first category is selected.

Add a model to a category

  1. Pick a category from the list on the left.
  2. Check the models you want in the product list. You can select several — or all — at once.
  3. Move them in by dragging the selection, or clicking the Move button (its arrow points left, toward the category).
  4. Done — moved models disappear from the product list and the counters on both sides update.
Select models and use Move (arrow points left) to add them to a category

A single model can live in multiple categories at once.

Remove a model from a category

The same flow works in reverse: select the models in the category, then use the Move button (its arrow now points right). Removed models return to the product list.

Fine-tuning a model in the catalog

Hover over a model in a category to reveal toggles you can switch on and off — controlling what your customers are allowed to change:

Publishing

Your changes go live only when you press Publish. The button stays inactive until you've made a change.

If you try to leave with unsaved changes, a Save your work prompt appears. Yes, save applies and publishes; No, discard deletes them.

Managing categories

Shape your catalog's structure by creating, renaming, reordering and organizing categories.

Create a new category

The … menu

Hovering a category also reveals a (three-dots) button with more actions:

  • New subfolder — opens a window to name and Save a subfolder (or Cancel / close with ×).
  • Delete — asks you to confirm. Yes, delete removes the category and all of its subfolders; No or × cancels.

Deleting a category also deletes everything nested inside it. This can't be undone, so double-check before confirming.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

My file was rejected during upload. Why?
A file fails validation when it isn't a usable 3D model — for example, a single texture or material on its own. Invalid files are highlighted in red; remove them and the rest can continue. Make sure each upload is a complete model (or a complete set of model + textures + materials) in .glb, .obj or .fbx format.
What file formats can I upload?
The tool supports .glb, .obj and .fbx files, including complete sets that bundle textures and materials with the model.
What does the Analytics indicator mean?
It's a suitability check for using the model inside Planner 5D. If a model isn't ideal, the reason is shown — common ones are: too large, too few or too many vertices, merged into a single mesh during conversion, or low-quality texture images. Use it as a guide for where to optimize.
A model is stuck in Pending. Is something wrong?
No — Pending means the model has finished converting and is waiting for you. Open it and complete the setup step to move it forward to Processing and then Ready.
Can the same model appear in more than one category?
Yes. A model can be added to as many categories as you like without uploading it again.
I made changes in the Library but they aren't showing. Why?
Catalog changes only go live after you press Publish. If you leave before publishing, the Save your work prompt lets you publish or discard your changes.
What happens to a model with an Error status?
An Error model can't be viewed or edited. The usual fix is to delete it and upload a corrected file. If errors keep happening with a model you believe is valid, contact support.
